Wet and Wild: The Spirit of Sister Corita

23 November 2007–24 February 2008
Opening Friday 23 November 7-9pm

Wet and Wild: The Spirit of Sister Corita focuses on the ephemeral aspects of the creative practice of artist and printmaker Corita Kent (1918–1986). A slide show curated from Corita’s archive conveys her context at the Immaculate Heart College’s revolutionary art department in Los Angeles in the 1960s. Baylis Glascock’s documentary, “Corita Kent: On Teaching and Celebration” is on continuous view. Key publications by Corita are also displayed. Wet and Wild is organized by Julie Ault and Signal in collaboration with WKMP. The exhibition is activated as a platform for events that link contemporary cultural practices to Corita’s methods.
